The daughter of a 70-year-old driver who slammed into a Cape Cod medical building yesterday in a recalled Toyota RAV4 said her mother told her she was braking at the time of the crash.

“She had her foot on the brake and she was pulling into a parking space at her doctor’s office. All of the sudden, the car accelerated,” said Kim Wilkins, whose mother, Ann, was behind the wheel when the car slammed into the Seaside Medical building in West Yarmouth.

This story makes no sense. If one was pulling into a parking space it seems unlikely that would be a time for the pedal to get stuck.

The media won't stop until they've killed Toyota. I guess that would be good for Government Motors (GM).

I guess Toyota's slogan "Moving Forward" was a better choice than "You can't stop us."

I don't think so, Gramma. You Q-Tips do this all the time.

It was also Toyota's fault that her left turn signal stayed on for the last four miles.

Airbag issues have been plaguing Toyota for years, but you have to follow Motor Trend to know that. Toyota has been quitely doing recalls in the name of scheduled MT, then changing the customers for the defective parts. Unbelievable, but loyal owners do not want see the facts. If you want to buy Japanese, then by Honda or Nissan.

Dig a little deeper, Car & Driver and Motor Trend has been following Toyota's recalls for over 5 years. They've been predicting this and as for GM, this also helps Honda & Nissan. Honda has remained consistent with their quality. Question is why do people think Toyota who work their workers in Japan to death above critisism? They import in Chinese workers just like Wallmart to Japan to work 140hrs a week.
