Injustice to elders

As a newspaper that endorsed Scott Brown, you must know that his (and the GOP’s) “big idea” for health care reform is tort reform. His position is that unnecessary and frivolous lawsuits cause high health care costs. Your story bewailing the inability of seniors and their families to sue nursing homes speaks to the success of these efforts (March 8).

You can’t have it both ways. Either the law preserves what your headline calls “the right” to sue or legislation supported by the GOP restricts that right to the vanishing point. Which will it be?
