U.S. Rep. Barney Frank, a longtime advocate for gay rights, doesn’t think the scandal involving ex-Rep. Eric Massa should negatively reflect on the gay community any more than other politicians’ misdeeds denigrate their respective communities.

“What does Charlie Rangel do to the black community? What do Mark Sanford or John Edwards do to the straight community?” Frank said this week.
