Convicted wife-killer Dirk Greineder has been named an officer of the only social club for murderers recognized by the commonwealth - even as he presses the state’s highest court to grant him a new trial.

As he serves a life sentence for the Halloween 1999 slaughter of Mae Greineder in a Wellesley park, the 69-year-old former allergist is serving on the Lifers Group board of directors, according to its 2009 annual report. Greineder’s term expires Aug. 31.
