FOXBORO -- Nick Kaczur paused to collect his thoughts, trying to choose his words carefully. Until, that is, the straight-laced veteran couldn’t help laughing at his own plight.

The topic was the much-discussed left guard spot, one the Patriots [team stats] lineman has manned since teammate Logan Mankins [stats] began his contract-related sit-out this offseason. The question was simple:
