Didier Drogba named Africa footballer of 2009

ACCRA, Ghana — Didier Drogba was named Africa’s footballer of the year for the second time on Thursday, his 32nd birthday.

Drogba, the Ivory Coast captain and Chelsea striker, received the 2009 award from the African Football Confederation, topping a vote by Africa’s national coaches.
